History

Joseph CataldoCataldo Catholic School began well over 100 years ago with the determination and leadership of a Catholic Jesuit priest, Father Joseph Cataldo. Father Cataldo was a missionary who was influential in the founding of Our Lady of Lourdes parish school in 1888. This first school was the origin of Cataldo Catholic School.

In 1972 two other parish schools, Sacred Heart and St. Augustine chose to unite their strengths with Our Lady of Lourdes to provide the best education possible. In 1984 they consolidated schools to the St. Augustine facility. In 1987 the school's name was changed to Cataldo Catholic School to better reflect its heritage and religious commitment.

Since 1888, despite changes in name and location, the faith commitment and educational mission of Cataldo Catholic School have remained the same. Generations of students have benefited from the sacrifices and efforts others have made to ensure a strong future for Catholic education at Cataldo. Now it is our turn to make possible for future students what others have made possible for us.
