Preschool Program

Shining Stars Preschool is staffed by certified teachers who prepare, plan, and present educational activities for the children. Our program offers a literacy based curriculum which includes music, art and large/fine motor skill development. Learning centers are set up to promote and enhance the educational experience. There are large and small group activities, as well as individual play. Religion classes nurture positive qualities while developing a love for God. We perform regular assessments to ensure continuous growth in each child.

There are separate rooms for 3 & 4 year olds. Our classrooms are clean and bright and have their own entrance where parents are greeted. Outside recess is in a fenced-in playground exclusively for the preschool children; along with access to a large room for exercise and activity when the weather does not permit outside play. There is also a napping area for the children.

The 2011-12 school year runs from August 31st through June 13th, and we follow the Diocesan Schoolwide Calendar.

Preschool Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 11:00 am

Extended Care: 11:00 am – 5:30 pm

Age Requirements Children who are 3 & 4 years of age by August 31st and are able to use the bathroom independently are eligible to enroll in Cataldo’s Shining Stars Preschool. Children 30 months old are eligible to enroll in our Early Three program.

Staffing Ratio The staff/child ratio is 1:10.

Immunizations An up-to-date immunization and medical report will be required for each child enrolled.

Transportation Transportation to and from the preschool is provided by parents.
