We adopted our son from the foster care system when he was 10 years old. He’s a kid with a unique story and unique needs. Cataldo has met those needs with a 1Corinthians 13 kind of love while still challenging him to grow academically, relationally and spiritually. Cataldo has truly been what we needed a school to be.

More than anything else, Cataldo is a community where our family felt cared for and nurtured by other Cataldo families and by the teachers and staff, from preschool through eighth grade.

We moved to Spokane a few years ago and feel we made the BEST decision for our three boys to attend Cataldo Catholic School. We have formed such genuine relationships with everyone including families, administrators, and the teachers in such a short period of time. Our boys are receiving a great Catholic education and the teachers truly care about each child. They go above and beyond to help each child succeed. Cataldo encourages our children to love one another, seek God, give back to their community, and pursue education with enthusiasm. Cataldo Catholic School is a special place with a strong community of solid and supportive parents. We feel very blessed to be a part of this community.

We have moved multiple times, including once after we were a Cataldo family. We transferred away from Spokane with my husband’s job and came back. Never could we replicate the community that is here at Cataldo. Our kids have graduated, moved onto high school, and now our oldest is in college. Our very best family friends are those made here. Cultivating traits such as compassion, friendship and faith have been some of the most wonderful virtues and characteristics our children have learned. And, it was learned here.

One particular attribute of the Cataldo community that has been amazing to me time and time again has been its ability to “do whatever it takes.” If a faculty member or spouse is sick, the community responds with an abundance of food, prayers and support. When the annual school play is under production, parents and teachers provide countless hours and resources to ensure that the end result is always extraordinary. With its focus on different themes, the school auctions are part costume party, part dance party and all fun. More importantly, everyone pulls together to financially contribute “whatever it takes” for the support of the school. These are just a few examples of this outstanding Cataldo quality. Our family feels truly blessed to have been a part of it!

My daughter started at Cataldo 2 years ago when we were looking for a school with more to offer, specifically an extension of the religion and values we were teaching at home. We have found exactly that at Cataldo along with excellent teachers, friends and a strong community. We are excited to have our son start this fall at Cataldo as a preschooler and have the same positive experience my daughter had in her education and social growth.

Seven of my siblings and I graduated from Cataldo, so when we moved back to Spokane after 19 years away, where else would we enroll our children? Despite four wonderful years at Cataldo, we were still tempted by the solid offerings of the Spokane Public Schools, and so we moved our children away for two years. We simply could not replicate the community, the faith-based environment, and the unique offerings of Cataldo. Our children love it here – it is a very special place!
